Has anybody ever noticed how there are so many rituals at high schools? For example, every high school has there favorite hazing techniques *COUGH initiation rites COUGH*. Then there is the blatant definition of the classes by having grade colors (seniors wear black, juniors wear red, etc). The football players define their own sect by shaving their heads before the school year.
Throughout the year itself, the varsity and junior varsity sports teams wear their jerseys on game day, or they dress up. There is also the time honored tradition of spirit week. What is the point of spirit week? Will dressing up on wacky day really improve the football team's chances at the big game?! I think not. This is why I do not participate in most of the school 'traditions.' I prefer not to indulge in allelomimetic behavior of any sort if it can be avoided.
I admit that I am planning on making senior shirts with Rachael and Kat, but that is okay in my mind since we are not doing a conventional shirt. I will not disclose the exact style, but it is totally unique for a senior shirt.
On that note, I shall save my next absurd rant for next time. This is G. Helen signing off.
